Important Notice – Face masks

In response to recent Government guidelines (www.gov.uk/public-advised-to-cover-faces-in-enclosed-spaces), we are asking that patients now bring their own hand made face mask or covering when attending the practice. This is to ensure our PPE levels remain safe for the foreseeable future.

Below is a link to the GOV.UK website, with instructions for how to make masks at home: www.gov.uk/how-to-wear-and-make-a-cloth-face-covering

Face coverings have 2 benefits:

  • It can potentially stop the spread of droplets from an infected person to others. So, if you cough or sneeze, it catches the droplets.
  • It is a reminder not to touch your own face or mouth. (It is important to also remember that if you keep touching your mask this can result in “hand to mouth” transmission of the virus).

Please remember that social distancing and effective hand washing are the best ways of protecting ourselves and each other and face masks are not a replacement for this.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
