Contraception

If you are already taking a contraceptive pill, or you know that you definitely want to start a pill, use one of these forms:

Which type of pill am I on?

  • If your pill has two active ingredients then it is the Combined Contraceptive Pill, often known as “The Pill”. The first ingredient is usually ethinylestradiol.
  • If your pill has just one active ingredient then it is the Progestogen-only contraceptive pill, often known as “The mini-pill”. The types of mini-pill are Norethisterone (Noriday©), Levonorgestrel (Norgeston©) and Desogestrel (Cerazette©, Cerelle© and other brands).
